Introduction of the bachelor and master system Essay Example for Free

Presentation of the unhitched male and ace framework Essay Globalization and advancement are two factors that enormously sway on the potential that countries have for creating esteem. Of the various elements that influence the general public in the current operational condition, globalization comes up as the most powerful because of the impact that it has on almost all parts of the cutting edge economies (Neal 129). With increment in communication between various networks a requirement for normalization has created because of distinction in gauges and approaches that are utilized across various social orders (Lee 43). Electronic norm, remote conventions, worldwide courts and exchanging obstructs all come because of the need to normalize approaches that the present social orders use. The European which is the biggest exchanging square comprehensively has additionally dealt with the way that there is requirement for normalization particularly in the region of advanced education in this way the Bologna accord (Loosvelt and Gysen 163). Notwithstanding, the impact of normalization of advanced education is seen distinctively with some guaranteeing that it impacts decidedly on the instruction gauges in Europe while some placing to the way that it could diminish adaptability and in this manner significance of the training framework to singular social orders (Alesi and RosznyaI, 396). This examination utilizes the guide of existing inquires about and speculations to investigate the impacts of the Bologna procedure remembering its bit of leeway for the two businesses and representatives with the point of looking to build up an away from of its suggestion and zones that may require further location to guarantee that Europe streamlines gains in its instructive and social frameworks. The Bologna Process The fundamental inspiration to the Bologna accord was to guarantee expanded similarity of advanced education gauges across Europe (Van Biesen and Rahier 222). The naming of the Bologna procedure follows legitimately from the Italian city where it was marked (Dobrenkova 46). In spite of the fact that 29 countries were the underlying signatories to the procedure, the number has expanded with time. The marking of the Bologna procedure is viewed as the end procedure of various procedures prominently in Germany and Western Europe colleges that were focused on harmonization of the design or frameworks that is utilized in advanced education (Lindblom-Ylanne and Hamalainen 161). About all individuals from the gathering of Europe are signatories to the understanding through there are countries that in spite of applying were denied a situation to be all the while. The essential methodology that is utilized by the Bologna procedure utilizes three phases or patterns of advanced education capability. The principle characterizing components of the Bologna procedure are the capability and ECTS credits. Bachelor’s certificate, aces and doctoral degrees are a portion of the key factors that are considered under capability. Most countries in Europe utilize the 3-2-multi year cycle to guarantee fruitions of the three levels in advanced education according to the Bologna accord (Malan 295). In spite of the fact that the genuine naming of the degree course may differ from one country to the next, a scholarly year is normalized to 60 ECTS credits (Pusztai and Szabo 102). There is an unmistakable connection between's this new framework and the methodologies that are utilized in North America and even in Japan with numerous analysts and instructors expressing this might be the path forward as for worldwide training (Becker 265). An observable change that is a consequence of the Bologna procedure is more accentuation being granted to commonsense preparing and even research ventures. This is in accordance with improvements in training that have commonly been equipped towards reception of approaches that are more practice situated. The credits being a proportion of the info that understudies have in their instruction is intelligent of the general intellectual capacities as well as introduction aptitudes (Patricio and Engelsen 601) advancement, hours spent examining and even broad abilities (Tauch 277). Numerous training specialists are of the view that this advancement carries instructions closer to the general public and necessities by and by where hypothetical and commonsense abilities are terrifically significant in guaranteeing productivity and improvement of the idea of training. The fundamental issues that the Bologna procedure looked to address emerge from duty in advanced education, administration, inquire about, values, changes in the idea of society and increment in multifaceted nature that foundations and associations face which has prompted high capability needs. With the executions of the Bologna procedure instructions is given higher adaptability that makes it simpler for understudies to move from one foundation to the next inside Europe (Berner and Richter 251). Different advantages that have come up as consequence of the Bologna procedure remember expanded appeal of advanced education for Europe, a more extensive advanced education system that places accentuation on quality and headway of information base and an expansion in the degrees of assembly among US and Europe concerning advanced education gauges which builds the extent of training and its retention of European understudies into standard employment markets. Like all change forms the Bologna procedure was censured from certain quarters with some being of the view that the structure embraced supported the UK particularly England and Ireland while introducing various challenges to mainland Europe countries (Vogel 133). Monetary and Academic Background Higher instruction like every single other framework in the present society is influenced by increment in cost of activities. Numerous instructors are of the view that the essential factor that supports various plans created by the EU is monetary thought and this is reflected in the Bologna procedure. Scientists and training scholars are of the view that the Bologna procedure is planned for amplifying the advanced education framework in Europe with the point of eliminating cost and in this manner guaranteeing an Europe wide normalization (Beertsen 107). The progressions are refered to as being in line procedures that have been proposed by the WTO and GATS in instruction that have for the most part been planned for limiting and in any event, disposing of the control that political frameworks have over advanced education. The scholastic angle is viewed as key to the various differential perspectives that have been created of the job of the Bologna procedure in guaranteeing that instructive objectives are met (Moshkin 10). Truth be told almost all debates that encompass the Bologna procedure have their premise on the scholastic and social effect of the Bologna procedure as opposed to the effect that it could have on economies. Mainland Europe countries mostly utilize a model that was motivated by the German instructive framework where a reasonable contrast existed among professional and scholarly preparing (Ash 264). This framework from the updates that it has gotten was seen as counter-beneficial in this way the reception of a framework that is in accordance with the English. The fundamental territories that were of worry under such an instructive framework which was utilized by a dominant part of mainland Europe countries is the way that professional preparing was not created with the point of further examinations. Bosses level instruction was a base level prerequisite in certain fields for example designing which constrained the pertinence of Bachelors level training in certain fields (Chuchalin 200). In addition, the mainland way to deal with Bachelors qualification didn't set up the understudies for work rather it was planned for setting them up for master’s level instruction. This diminished the aptitudes that such understudies had and the degree of proficiency that they show in the workforce. Regardless of the dissimilarity in level of aptitudes that Bachelors level understudy showed as for their capacity to oversee workforce issues, they were granted a similar title as specialists. One of the key ramifications of the Bologna procedure is subsequently a critical requirement for steps that are focused on harmonization of expert bodies which requires revaluation and now and again change in capability (Hibbert 34). In addition various key presumptions that have been made by the Bologna procedure have been under spotlight for example 60 ECTS for each year prerequisite depends on the supposition that 1500-1800 hours will be accessible in a year which presents an intricacy in its usage on the off chance that it is viewed as that it doesn't normalize semesters. Different pundits guarantee that a few courses were simply reclassified with no adjustment in course substance or necessity which because of ECTS prerequisites successfully suggests extra interest with little addition (Sanz and van der 34). These are a portion of the key issues that have been featured as being key to contentions encompassing the objectivity in execution of the Bologna procedure. In any case, the way that it is being utilized and countries look for being signatories suggests that a comprehension of the advantages is basic in deciding the territories that it could be inadequate in and thusly the advancement that can be consolidated to guarantee that the general public increases for it is the fate of European training. Suggestion on Selected Educational Systems A survey of chosen instructive frameworks shows that the ramifications of the Bologna accord have had differential impacts across Europe. The Finish arrangement of advanced education was least influenced by the usage of the Bologna accord. The significant changes are the incorporation of designing and military projects into experts and single men frameworks and increment in reception of English as the principle language. A course that has fundamentally continued as before as it was before the reception of the Bologna accord is medication which despite everything runs on a five years program (Cooper 259). The Italian framework depended on grant of a degree after the initial three years of undergrad level instruction that had no an incentive in the market except if one felt free to complete alumni level course has changed impressively. A three in addition to multi year framework has been

Haitink’s traversal of the ‘Pastoral’ is a fine achievement, established on tempi that strike the viewers. On the first movement, he takes it at a flowing, warm tempo. The Orchestra plays radiantly for him. The played symphony has a nice, firm bass line, revealingly enriched at intervals by the horns, and its attention to dynamics is meticulous throughout the whole symphony. Every human being on this planet is given the gift of courage. However, there are very few that ever take advantage of this gift, and actually put it to good use. Courage is the ability to work ones way through a tough situation. Be it mental, or physical. Individuals have all tacked tough challenges before, the difference, however, is that some people tend to give up when the going gets rough, while others keep on. Initially, Wallace loses his family due to the English; this problem stimulates his hate for England. Before his death Malcolm Wallace told William l know you can fight, but It Is our wits that make us men. This quote from Wallachs father meaner you can fight but ones wisdom triumphs all. Moral and values are what make up a human being, one must be wakened to battle the unfairness brought upon ones self or a collective. All individuals have a virtue of courage inside their body and the true visionaries will pursue their dreams until the end. Throughout the film it is known that Wallace will end up freeing Scotland but he is not truly awakened yet, all William knows is that the English took his family away from him. Instead of making him weak, the murder of his Witt awakens Wallace trot his passive mindset and prompts William to begin a rebellion of English rule. He Inspires thousands of Scotsmen to fight the English soldiers for their freedom. Longhairs once said Problem with Scotland Is that It Is full of Scots. This shows his (Scotland) free from the tyrants rule. If an individual really wants goal, one must show perseverance, a lot like William Wallace, his goal is to get freedom, and by having the courage, strength, wisdom, and self-respect he has, he is able to exercise his ambition to fight for freedom. Each difficult time in life has a moment to open ones eyes and mind to something far greater. As one strives to make it through problematic periods, hearing the wisdom of those who have struggled, questioned, and dreamed before one can make the Journey easier. Strength does not come from winning; an individuals struggle develops ones strength. When one goes through hardships and decides not to surrender, like William Wallace, not giving up on his dream of Scotland attaining freedom, which is true strength. Life has numerous ups and downs but they provide windows of opportunity to determine ones goals and aloes. Injustices are a part of life that every individual must deal with. These injustices can either enable one to succeed or cause one to fail. The most important aspect of life is thought to be happiness, in order to achieve success one must adjust to every situation with ease. When one uses the term successful, it does not mean the same as the conventional definition. The definition an individual is referring to is being able to overcome the injustice, nothing relating to business. Courage and self- respect has a major role in depicting whether or not one is able to overcome the injustices thrown towards them. In conclusion, in an individuals life, they will come across many major and non-major injustices. The individual can either chose to let it be or to stand up because their code of ethics tells them that this injustice is morally wrong. In the movie, Breather, William Wallace is able to overcome the injustices by fighting for what is right by using perseverance, one must have this aspect to complete anything in life. Without the traits of courage, perseverance, and self- respect one will not be able to go through with any goal or dream they think of. Courage is a state of mind that enables a person to overcome fear, pain, danger or hardship. Although different from one another, all aspects of courage involve taking risks. Courage is not the ability to be brave or to laugh in the face of danger. Courage is not risking your life for Justice. Courage is not a person who agrees to fight, but he who can stand up against it, William Wallace has true courage, he does not agree to fight but he wants to fight because his moral and values say that his people do not deserve to be treated inadequately, they are all humans, and warrant equality.

Great Gatsby Essays (933 words) - The Great Gatsby,

Great Gatsby Defined by a book of current literary terms, a climax is "the arrangement of a series of ideas or expressions in ascending order of importance or emphasis; the last term of the arrangement; a culmination." Written by F. Scott Fitzgerald during the roaring 20's, The Great Gatsby provides a look into the upper class circle of the East and West Villages of New York City. Known as East and West Egg in the novel, Fitzgerald, through the eyes of bachelor, portrays a cynical view of the high social society and the morality which it lacks. This scarcity of ethics ultimately causes the downfall of their hollow world in a clatter of broken hearts and mislead minds. The climax of The Great Gatsby takes place in a New York Hotel suite when, after many hints toward the reason for Gatsby's company, the true nature of his presence is revealed to Tom Buchanan. Ever since Jay Gatsby returned from World War I, which swept him away from his boyhood love Daisy, he has made every indirect effort to make contact and rekindle her love for him. Even with the knowledge that she is married and leads a separate life from his, Gatsby, without regrets, lives his life for her. When, at long last, he has the chance to interact with Daisy, he capitalizes on it immediately. With the assistance of Jordan Baker and his neighbor Nick Carraway (Daisy's second cousin), Gatsby arranges a meeting with Daisy. At this meeting the two hearts are reunited and again would be one, if not for the plate glass barrier of Daisy's marriage to Tom Buchanan which separates them. Originally held apart by a young boys' ineptitude to provide for a wealthy girl, Daisy is now held back by a seemingly insincere knot of matrimony. This keeps the all important bonds of love to be formed between the two former lovers. Tom, a wealthy man with family history, is enlightened to the existence of this perennial relationship in a slow weave of events which explode into the climax of the novel in a New York Hotel Room during a visit by Jay Gatsby. The spark that ignites the climax tinder box is a question posed by Tom to Gatsby. "'What kind of a row are you trying to cause in my house anyhow?' They were out in the open at last and Gatsby was content." The openness further shows itself as the scene quickly progresses into an blitzkrieg of words, the opposing forces Tom and Gatsby. "I've got something to tell you, old sport,__" began Gatsby. But Daisy guessed at his intention. "Please don't!" she interrupted helplessly. "Please let's all go home Why don't we all go home.?"... "She never loved you, do you hear?" he cried. " She only married you because I was poor and she was tired of waiting for me. It was a terrible mistake, but in her heart she never loved anyone except me!" At this point Jordan and I tried to go but Tom and Gatsby insisted with competitive firmness that we remain__ as though neither of them had anything to conceal and it would be a privilege to partake vicariously of their emotions. (137-8) Insults and accusations are slung as the too assault each other in a humanely cruel way until, when at the height of the climax, Daisy breaks apart. The two suitors are torn from their opposing member and focus on the revealed pain felt by the object of both their affections. "Please don't." Her voice was cold but the rancor was gone from it. She looked at Gatsby. "There, Jay," she said__but her hand as she tried to light a cigarette was trembling. Suddenly she threw the cigarette and the burning match on the carpet. "Oh, you want too much!" she cried to Gatsby. "I love you now__ isn't that enough? I can't help what's past." She began to sob helplessly. " I did love him once__but I loved you too Gatsby's eyes opened and closed. "You loved me too he repeated?"... "She's not leaving me!" Tom's world suddenly leaned down over Gatsby. "Certainly not for a common swindler who'd have to steal the ring he put on her finger."(139-40) A knock out punch, the argument soon sided itself and Tom emerged the victor from a slowly dissipating cloud of dust, Daisy his spoils. The argument drones on, a monotone buzz of accusations, but the outcome had already been decided and the words from that point on would be swallowed by Gatsby

Scandinavian Hero Beowulf Essays

Scandinavian Hero Beowulf Essays Scandinavian Hero Beowulf Essay Scandinavian Hero Beowulf Essay Scandinavian Hero Beowulf BY Rya-FreiJ Rya FreiJ Mr. Hamas English Honors 3 20 November 2013 The Undercover Wulf Beowulf, the Old-English epic poem, is characteristic of its Nordic-Germanic roots as a tale of a great Scandinavian hero Beowulf, who saves a neighboring kingdom from the wrath of the destructive, blood-thirsty monster, Grendel, and eventually becomes the king of his own people, the Geats. Closely related to modern day tribal and gang customs, it is questioned as to whether Beowulf should be considered a hero. He proves to be a great warrior and protector by killing three terrorizing beasts, a rovider by bringing back great treasures from each of his exploits, and faithful by always looking out for his tribe and fghting in their honor. The true question to be asked is, can tribal mentality produce a worthy hero? The answer is, yes. Steven Pressfield further explains what tribal mentality actually is in his article Tribes, Gangs, and Terrorists. Although Beowulf had done shameful things in the past, Beowulf is still considered a Viking hero and a modern hero because of his actions through the story such as strength, which prove that tribal culture and mentality can roduce a worthy hero. In the days of Beowulf and the Vikings, a hero was a man who was strong and courageous, willing and able to protect his tribe and provide for his people. Even today, the meaning of this word translates into the same category of definitions. A hero now is considered for the brave things they have done and selflessness that they possess. The narrators portrayal of Beowulf is nothing but heroic from his first mentioning, where he is described as [The] mightiest man on earth, (97), The noble warrior, (314), and The man whose name was known for ourage, the Great leader, (340-341). Anglo-Saxon warriors had to be stoic, and they had to appear fearless at all times. This relates to Beowulf because both showed no fear or sorrow. He kept his word and did not complain, no matter how impossible their tasks seem. Also in the article Tribes, Gangs, and Terrorists explains, The foe is granted full honor as a fghting man and defender of his home soil and values. Honor is one of the main characteristics in a hero that is presented to the world today, so how is tribal mentality different than the mentality than a hero? Actions of a erson describe whether a person is considered a hero, not their mentality. In Beowulf, Beowulf fights three different monsters. The first monster he fights is Grendel, the second is Grendels mom, and the third is a dragon. When travelling to Hrothgars land to slay the beasts, it shows as to how he and his men feel towards the monsters. Tribes are hostile to all outsiders, Steven Pressfield explains. Taking into consideration that the monsters are considered outsiders to Beowulf and his men, his heroic reaction to save his allies and companions expresses how the tribal system s connected to the thought that modern tribal mentality can produce a worthy hero. Each fght shows an important part of Beowulf. The fght with Grendel and Beowulf exhibits Beowulfs sheer strength and power which is explained in the quote, The encountered in any man on the face of the earth (749-752). Beowulf survives a handgrip that is supposedly tighter than anything he had ever encountered. In the second fight, Beowulf struggles against Grendels mom. Grendels mom grabs Beowulf a lot and Beowulf struggles to escape every time. When he hit Grendels mother with his sword, it bounces off and does merely nothing. This fight shows Beowulfs weaknesses and struggles. In the third and final fight, Beowulf and a small army fight a dragon. This happens nearly fifty years after the fght with Grendel and his mom. That final day was the first time when Beowulf fought and fate denied him of glory in battle, (2571-2573) is the first battle Beowulf had ever lost. If slaying three infamous hell bound creatures was not heroic, than what else is? Tribal mentality bands together beliefs, morals and the survival of their group. They are narrow minded, irrational, and closed to outside interference. They move and respond as a group. They tend to be very basic, killing anything that threatens their closed group. The article Tribes, Gangs, and Terrorists written by Steven Pressfield explains, Tribes prize loyalty and cohesion. Beowulf valued a sense of community and camaraderie. Anglo-Saxon and tribal behavior and goals are quite similar. After Beowulf passes away, Wiglaf announces that there will not be peace or pact-keeping of any sort from the Swedes, (2922-23) because that was what Beowulf wants. He does not wish to see his empire that he made crumble into oblivion. This also represents the revenge, which is a main part in the tribal culture. Any insult to honor must be avenged, (Pressfleld, 2011, pg. 1). Swedes had been insulting and harassing the Geats for a while by then, so with Beowulf gone, it was time for the team to take revenge. Just like modern heroes today. Heroes know when to take revenge for the loved ones that they have lost but in the right way. Beowulf took the lives of the monsters out of revenge and for the safety of everyone that surrounds him and the people that he cares about. The epic poem Beowulf focuses on the hero. Throughout various generations and cultures, people have had an image of the archetypal hero. The Anglo-Saxon ideals of heroism were strength, bravery, and loyalty, which were exactly the qualities that Beowulf possessed. Beowulf, as a result, is an icon of his ancient Germanic heritage. He imitates the world around him by reflecting past traditions of heroes and mirrors their characteristics and actions. With him, his honor and pride make him not only a hero of his own time, but also a hero for generations to come. In all, tribal mentality whether centuries old compared to modern day does produce a worthy hero; heroes that can and are willing to protect the people that they love and surround them.

The Life Of Frederick Douglas Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

The Life Of Frederick Douglas - Essay Example It was only when he got to be about six or seven that he was brought onto the plantation to work. Even though it was rumored that Douglass had a white father, perhaps even his master, he was treated as a slave since the moment of his birth. He was separated from his mother, Harriet Bailey, before he was a year old. This custom, as Douglass explains, was derived from the notion that â€Å"to hinder the development of the child’s affection towards its mother, and to blunt and destroy the natural affection of the mother for the child† (Douglass 17). He felt no loss when he was told his Mother had died. The only family he was close to was his Grandmother, until he was brought to the plantation. It was here, during the moment of their separation, that Douglass discovered he was a ‘slave’, and what it meant to be a slave. Similarly, Harriett Jacobs did not know she was a slave until roughly the age of six, upon her Mother’s death. â€Å"I was so fondly shielded that I never dreamed I was a piece of merchandise† (Jacobs 7). Jacobs’ knowledge of the cruel treatment of slaves came when she was twelve years old, after her kind mistress passed away and Jacobs was handed over to her mistress’ sister and family. Unlike Douglass, Jacobs’ family was kept together during her childhood. She lived in a cabin with her parents and younger brother, Willie. Her Father was a carpenter, and he was able to earn these allowances by working as such and turning part of his earnings over to his mistress (Jacobs 7). Where Jacobs had been treated as family, Douglass was made certain that he was nothing more than a slave. Children on Captain Anthony’s plantation would eat out of a trough, like pigs. There were no beds or blankets provided to the slaves, and â€Å"children from seven to ten years old, of both sexes, almost naked, might be seen at all seasons of the year† (Douglass 22). Where Jacobs was proud

Doing business in Europe (German) 2 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Doing business in Europe (German) 2 - Essay Example logical changes, and even environmental changes generate ever new problems and challenges which companies must face in order to continue to operate successfully. For instance, changes in the enforcement and interpretation of tax laws in Europe have had an impact on the operations and viability of such companies in the European continent. The problems are tied to the way Europe for instance is pushing for higher tax collections from HP and other American firms, and that these problems in turn affect the profitability and the viability of companies such as HP (Duncan, 2012). Does HP enter at all, and what kind of entry strategy makes sense in light of this problem? When it has entered, does it pull out and miss out on the large and lucrative European market for computing products and services, or does it adapt and shift strategies in order to properly deal with the problem of more persistent and higher tax collection efforts on the part of the European governments? This is one case amo ng many others that this paper discusses, presenting the problems faced by companies such as Siemens, BMW, Airbus, and Mercedes Benz, and also presenting the ways in which these companies solved these problems, using a variety of approaches specific to their circumstances and the problems that they faced, with a focus on the German market (The Economist Newspaper Limited, 2013). In the case of HP and other American companies operating in Europe, the problem has to do with the way European governments have been pushing to collect more taxes from those companies, who in turn have been trying to move the other way via a global practice that sees those firms trying to avoid paying taxes by financial accounting maneuvering so that profits are reported in so-called tax haven territories. This is tied to the problem of HP being able to enter and operate successfully in the continent, and in what manner. In the end the solution seems to be to financially retain the identity of HP as an entity

Problem of Obesity Essay Example for Free

Problem of Obesity Essay Think about your classmates or schoolmates and try to describe them! Do it! Now count how many of them you described as FAT. You can always name one, cant you? At least I can. Obesity can cause a lot of disease like diabetes and high blood pressure, which may cause the overloading of Hong Kongs healthcare system. Thats what makes obesity not just a problem of patients but also a problem of the public. So, what causes obesity? Sure youve heard ‘being fat is cute and healthy and brings good luck from different TV programmers or even your parents or grannies. Thats one of the reasons why 13. 4% of boys and 10. 5% of girls between the ages of 6 and 18 are overweight. Adults, especially the old ones, love rewarding kids with snacks, usually the unhealthy one like chocolates, chips, etc. Not just obesity it caused, but also diabetes. These snacks contain a large amount of energy, sodium, and fat, which they get 35 – 45% calories from. Remember Augustus Gloop in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Yes, hes the fat boy who loves chocolate and ends up being sucked out of the chocolate river. Do you want yourself or your children look like Augustus? Sure nobody wants to look like Giant be? r, so stop rewarding them with snacks, but whole grains, vegetables, and fruit instead. Now, count the total time of your exercise in a week. I got about 120 minutes, what ? bout you? Less than 30 minutes? Youre just like most young people in Hong Kong. This is also the main cause of obesity. According to a survey make by HKU, 69% of local secondary school students dont do enough exercise to achieve health benefits from it and almost 20% got NO exercise at all and somehow they think they can maintain good health with little or no physical activity. Ridiculous isnt it? Or you have the same thought? Dr. Jack Hodgins from the Chinese university said that a large percentage of children have no exercise. He said that children were spending too much time on activities such as playing computer games and watching TV. Dr. Hodgins said young people ought to include more physical activity in their daily routines. Exercise was particularly important for young people because it helped to build and maintain strong bones and muscles. With too little exercise their bones and muscles would not develop properly. How many sit-ups can you do in 5 minutes? 10 years ago, children in Hong Kong can do 100, now they can only do 50. Children are becoming less and less fit. When youre not fit, your heart gets weaker and needs to work harder to keep your body going and if it has to work too hard for a long period of time, you can develop serious problems such as heart disease and high blood pressure. Dont let this happen to you! Keep fit! Stay healthy! We got lots of homework and exams; we got no time at all, students said. Well, no time is never a reason since WALKING IS ALSO A KIND OF EXERCISE. Walking home is quite a good way to do exercise if youre not living too far away from school Do you eat your breakfast every morning? Do you know that skipping breakfast is also a cause of getting fat? People who skipped breakfast usually become so hungry by mid-morning that they need to fill up on high-fat or high-sugar snacks and beverages. As a result, they consume too many calorie and gain weight. So dont forget to have a healthy breakfast every day. In conclusion, we should always have a healthy breakfast every morning, have a b? lanced diet, and, most importantly, do enough exercise so we can stay? way from obesity and diabetes.

Grendels Mothers Attack :: Essays Papers

Grendel's Mother's Attack Grendel's mother, unknown to the Danes or Geats, is plotting to avenge the death of her son. After the celebrations are over in Heorot and everybody is asleep, Grendel's mother appears out of her dwelling place, the swamp. She enters the hall where the warriors are sleeping. They wake in time to ward off the attack with their swords but the monster manages to escape with one victim in her claws (this is Aeschere). After she escapes, the warriors realize that she has managed to steal back Grendel's claw from where it has been hanging. The victim is one of Hrothgar's closest advisors, "the man he loved most of all men on earth." The king summons Beowulf and his men. There's a feeling of desperation in the air. We know Beowulf realizes that something is dreadfully wrong -- no doubt he can hear the uproar from the main hall- but he also knows that it's his job to convey confidence and self-control. At this moment, the young warrior seems wiser and more mature than the aging king. Beowulf is told by the King that Grendel's mother has "avenged the feud" (Abrams, 44). The king, once again, asks Beowulf to help him. Beowulf, upon seeing the king's condition, says: Sorrow not, wise warrior. It is better for a man to avenge his friend than much mourn. Each of us must await his end of the world's life. Let him who may get glory before death: that is best for the warrior after he has gone from life. Arise, guardian of the kingdom, let us go at once to look on the track of Grendel's kin. On their way to the swamp, they discover Aeschere's bloody head sitting on top of the cliff.

Reworking is a natural part of being the project manager of an object- oriented analysis and design project and an integral part of its development process. He also understood the importance of looking into which strategies helped to make the project a success by focusing on the busiest store in Irvine as a previous iteration. Jim also showed eagerness and interest in the project by compromising with his personal preferences for the benefit of the project.By personally investing his own time he will prove to be a leader and stimulate a similar motivation from other team members. This proves that Jim assesses the qualities of a good project manager. To further show that he is a good project manager Jim should show an understanding towards the fact that Ella is also under pressure from her supervisors to make the project a success. She may have a lot riding on the project or may have the competition looking to see where any flaws in her company lies.Jim should portray confidence in his abilities to succeed with the project. By being flexible to work with Ell's plan but remaining firm in his other team member selections, it shows his faith in his ability to create a successful team and gives off the mage that he knows what is necessary for the project to be a success. As Ella is implying that Bob seems to understand the importance of the project more so than Jim, it is important that he explains and demonstrates through his actions that he understands the importance of the project to her as well.Jim should also not show any trepidation about having almost an in-house spy reporting on all his actions and behaviors back to the COO. To deal with a busy team member such as Juanita Lopez he can have her send in times that would work best for her and arrange team meetings so that the others could omelet a majority of their portions during meetings when she is not available. Then during times when she is available they can convene and put their separate portions together and iron out any kinks they find in the strategies.Jim can also organize video conferences if it proves that distance or scheduling times for meetings in one place makes it difficult to meet. Jim could also ask for Juanita to delegate the smaller and simpler tasks to other staff members at the Irvine store so that she could dedicate more time for the project. Another possible suggestion is for them to alternate their meetings eased on Junta's days off with proper compensation for her time (if the project is not an addition to her regular paycheck). As the project manager Jim must first set define the project as a set of components. After that the team can work together to analyze the components and implement the most difficult ones first. Jim should avoid planning the project out to the minutest detail because the plan can easily change. Each iteration should be taken one at a time for a previously set period of time until the best possible system is formed. To complete the project initiation Jim must next establish a legislation with the customer. By building strong customer relations business has a better chance of flourishing. The next step would be to establish the project initiation plan. Then Jim would need to establish management procedures and establish the project management environment and a project workbook. Last but not least it is necessary for Jim to develop the project charter. Only after these six components are completed can Jim complete the initiation phase. One team communication method that Jim can use is to send minutes of the meetings after they have met to summarize the topics discussed and decisions that were made. This can be used as a way to inform all team members of their progress and can also act a permanent record as well.A con would be that it is very formal and so it would not be used to facilitate interdisciplinary interactions. Another communication method that can be used is to have regular meetings. This would allow the team to work together to resolve issues but can also range in formality from medium to high. Teams can also use status reports when they need to report to their supervisors about the project's progress. Status reports are highly formal and are used to inform others of progress. In order o have a concrete idea of each team member's responsibilities specification documents can be used. These are highly formal and are used not only to inform team members of their responsibilities but also as a permanent record of tasks to be completed. Last but not least teams can also use casual brown bag lunches to have a relaxed discussion about the progress the team is making in the project and to discuss recommendations for the team to work better together. It would not only help inform team members of where they stand in the project but also promote a more relaxed atmosphere for them to work together.

Literature Review on Gender Differences in Coping...

It is an established fact that men and women differ in many ways, with different emotions and perceptions, with different personality characteristics (Burr, 1998). There has been much debate regarding the different gender related issues as more and more researches are being conducted. Although much of the research on gender is surrounded by controversy, researchers still ponder over different issues concerning gender differences. Many issues have been taken to account such as stress levels, adaptation and social relationships which are some of the areas in which there are significant gender differences (Larsen Buss, 2002). Gender difference in coping is an interesting issue among these various issues regarding gender differences. The†¦show more content†¦They are support seeking and tense reduction strategies. De Veries, David W. Hamilton, Steven Lovett and Dolores Gallagher-Thompson in 1997. The aim of this study was to learn about the similarities and differences in male and female caregivers’ preferred strategies for coping and the perceived helpfulness of these strategies in managing caregiving stressors were examined in this study (DeVeries et al, 1997). The subjects in this study consisted of 139 men and 31 women who were primary caregivers for an elderly family member who was either mentally (in terms of cognition) ill or physically weak. The participants were all volunteers who stepped in to participate in this research. They were required to fill up a questionnaire from the Health and Daily Living Form (Moos, Cronkite, Billings, Finncy, 1984 as cited by Helen et al, 1997). This questionnaire focused on determining the type and variety of coping strategies which consisted of 33 coping strategies used by caregivers in order to reach up to their high demand of caregiving. The results of this research suggest that there are no differences in coping strategies between the 2 sexes.
